Every school outing is different, we know that at Toy Museum Mechelen too. That is why we have put together different packages so that you have enough options to plan the ideal class trip. With or without a guided tour, staying for lunch or not: it's all possible.

Do you prefer to visit the museum without staying for lunch or booking a school session? Then you can opt for the essentials package

Practical

Per 15 pupils, 1 teacher can enter the museum for free. For every additional teacher or accompanying adult you'll pay €12.50.

Self-guided visit

Explore the museum with your group and discover toys of all generations. The pupils can put their playing skills to the test while playing various interactive games in gallery 3. Still full of energy afterwards? No worries. Gallery 4 is a fun playing universe filled with a variety of games and toys that addresses everyone's interests!

A passionate educator will guide your group through a few sections of the museum. In a fun and engaging way the children will learn what a museum does. They'll discover the collection of the museum and explore some of the interactive games.

Let the games begin!

Self-guided visit

Everyone in the group receives a wristband at the start of the visit. The wristband allows you to dive into details about the collection and to activate interesting audio fragments. In for a fun game experience? Unlock your personal avatar with your wristband and start playing throughout the levels of gallery 3! 

Apart from the game experience there are more opportunities for play during your visit. In gallery 4 you'll encounter a fun playing universe full of interactive games and toy installations. After all learning about games, toys and play is way more fun when you can put your new knowledge immediately to practice!

Did people play differently in the past? Which toys did people use and what kind of games did they play?

Discover everything about games, toys and play at different moments throughout history during this school session. Pupils will look at historic objects, listen to engaging stories and actively put their knowledge to practice.

What does it actually mean to play? Did people play differently in the past compared to today? A play expert will guide your group through the museum and offer different perspectives that'll answer these questions. Pupils will learn more about the history of games, toys and play thanks to the collection on display as well as by interacting and discussing the topics at hand.

Play is beneficial for us. It is not only a fun activity to do, but also promotes our development. During this school session, pupils discover how games, toys and play help people in developing different skills. They'll put their knowledge to practice immediately by putting their own skills to the test at various interactive play installations.

Speelgoedmuseum - Kazerne Dossin: €7 per pupil under 10 / €11.7 per pupil between 10 and 12 / €14.7 for pupils over 12*.
